This interesting article was published in the BDJ looking at “Trends in US malpractice payments in dentistry compared to other health professions”  (BDJ 2017 222;36-40) shows that in dentistry payments to settle claims are increasing whilst non-dentist healthcare claims ( including doctors) are decreasing over the same period. The UK has a different experience which I have discussed in the commentary to this paper.
