NHS Regulations handout

Lectures  /   /  By Dr Len D'Cruz

Many words have been written about the 2006 NHS contract in England , some of which have been mine. In this document,  which I use as a handout for my NHS regulations talk, I have highlighted some of the important clauses which I discuss with the aid of scenarios to engage with the delegates. I can assure you I don’t have all the answers and at every talk I give there is always a new twist on an interpretation of these sometimes arcane  clauses depending on the patient, the practice or indeed what the NHS commissioners themselves think about a particular clause. Don’t let anyone tell you there are no grey areas in the contract as the  last CDO for England tried to tell me.
